However I am unaware of what either of the anointings were for in brother bruce's case. maybe one was for the cancerous illness and maybe one was for just the strengthing of the body to cope with it. I think that the anointing could have been for two different purposes. So to answer your question I think your understanding is correct.

I am amazed that "the people" can be so easily man...

I am amazed that "the people" can be so easily manipulated. I think when people say "blind Faith" what they are meaning is a lesser degree of faith, or faith with nothing to back it up other than because someone said so. The "seeing" faith could then be faith that is had not because there is a perfect knowledge, but a strong support base, theoretical probability, likelyhood, or the thing said is just plain reasonable and therefore easily believed.
I agree with you that the names of them are incorrect. Maybe a better label would be "faith with good reasoning to have that faith" and "faith with little reasoning to have that faith".
As far as "seeing" through an eye of faith, well,it's seeing not in a physical sense, but figuratively. Let's say you want to achieve something. You have not yet, and therefore that thing does not exist, and in essence is dead. It's darkness and with out life. But if you first envision,or imagine the thing you want to achieve, and then believe that you can infact work to achieve, or bring to life and into existance that thing, then you have just seen through and eye of faith. You can then persue the thing, line upon line, and exercise your faith into works, then if your vision was true to begin with, the thing you are working to achieve will inevitably come to pass, so long as you do all you are required to.
Nate.R
